How The Family Behaviorist collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit the site, sign up, buy, or book.

Effective date: October 23, 2026

Who we are

The Family Behaviorist is run by Samantha (“Mandy”) Grass, BCBA. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit thefamilybehaviorist.com or use our services, how we use it, and the choices you have. Throughout this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean The Family Behaviorist. If you have any questions, email mandy@thefamilybehaviorist.com.

Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, and some information automatically when you use the site:

  • Newsletter and freebie sign-ups (including our pop-up): your name and email address.
  • Contact and speaking inquiry forms: your name, email address, and anything you choose to include in your message, such as your organization, event details, or questions.
  • Purchases: when you buy a digital product, course, or webinar through our Squarespace store, we receive your name, email address, billing details, and order history. Card payments are handled by our payment processors (such as Stripe); we never see or store your full card number.
  • The Club membership: if you join The Club, your membership is managed on Circle, which collects your name, email address, profile details, and anything you post in the community.
  • Coaching bookings: when you book a session through Calendly, we receive your name, email address, the time you booked, and any notes you add.
  • Live sessions: webinars, coaching, and Club events run on Zoom, which processes your name, email address, and participation in the session.
  • Analytics and cookies: Squarespace automatically collects technical information such as your browser, device, pages visited, and general location, and uses cookies to keep the site working and to give us traffic statistics.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • deliver the freebies, products, courses, webinars, and memberships you request;
  • send our email newsletter (more on that below);
  • respond to your messages, booking requests, and speaking inquiries;
  • provide customer service, process payments and refunds, and keep records of purchases;
  • understand how the site is used so we can improve it; and
  • comply with our legal obligations.

Email newsletters

If you sign up for a freebie or our newsletter, we will send you emails with parenting tips, new resources, and occasional offers using Squarespace Email Campaigns. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, or by emailing us. Unsubscribing from marketing emails won’t affect emails about a purchase or booking you have made.

Third-party services we use

We rely on trusted service providers to run the site and our programs. They process your information on our behalf and under their own privacy policies:

  • Squarespace: website hosting, forms, online store, email campaigns, and analytics.
  • Circle: The Club membership community.
  • Stripe and other payment processors: secure payment processing.
  • Calendly: coaching session scheduling.
  • Zoom: live webinars, coaching sessions, and Club events.
  • Spotify: our podcast player is embedded from Spotify, which may set its own cookies when you load or play it.

We don’t sell your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share it with the service providers listed above as needed to run our business, or when required by law.

Cookies and analytics

Squarespace uses cookies that are necessary for the site to work (for example, to keep items in your cart) and analytics cookies that tell us how visitors use the site. Embedded content such as the Spotify player may also set cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

How long we keep information

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes described here. Newsletter subscribers stay on our list until they unsubscribe. Purchase and booking records are kept as long as needed for accounting, tax, and legal purposes. Messages and inquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up.

How we protect your information

We use reputable platforms that protect data with industry-standard security, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and secure payment processing. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children’s privacy

This site and our services are intended for adults, including parents, caregivers, and professionals. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights and choices

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your information; or
  • stop sending you marketing emails.

Depending on where you live (for example, California under the CCPA or the EU/UK under the GDPR), you may have additional rights, such as the right to object to or restrict certain uses of your information. To make any request, email mandy@thefamilybehaviorist.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above.
